Why Time Becomes More Valuable Than Money
By Nino Mihilli | Entrepreneur, Author, and Founder of T47 Group
When you're younger, it's easy to believe that money is the most valuable asset in the world.
Many of us spend years pursuing it.
Building businesses.
Working overtime.
Chasing opportunities.
Setting financial goals.
And there is nothing wrong with that.
Money matters.
It creates options.
It provides security.
It allows us to take care of the people we love.
But the older I get, the more I realize there is something even more valuable.
Time.
The One Resource We Cannot Replace
Money can be lost and earned again.
Businesses can be rebuilt.
Mistakes can be corrected.
But time only moves in one direction.
Once it's gone, it's gone.
That's why I've become increasingly intentional about how I spend it.
Not just in business.
In every area of life.
Because how we spend our time ultimately becomes how we spend our lives.
Success Changes Perspective
Early in my entrepreneurial journey, I measured progress primarily through growth.
Revenue.
Clients.
Opportunities.
Achievements.
Today, I still enjoy building businesses.
I still enjoy pursuing goals.
But my perspective has evolved.
Now I ask different questions.
Am I spending enough time with my family?
Am I investing in relationships that matter?
Am I growing spiritually?
Am I creating memories I'll be grateful for later?
Those questions feel more important now than they once did.
Faith Reminds Us What Matters Most
The Bible says:
"Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom." — Psalm 90:12
That verse becomes more meaningful every year.
It reminds me that wisdom often begins with perspective.
Understanding that our time is limited helps clarify what truly matters.
It helps us focus on:
- faith
- family
- relationships
- purpose
- service
Instead of getting lost in distractions.
The Inspiration Behind The Variable
One of the themes woven throughout The Variable is urgency.
What happens when people realize time is running out?
How do priorities change?
What becomes important?
The answers often reveal character.
Because pressure has a way of stripping away distractions and exposing what truly matters.
That question fascinated me while writing the book.
And honestly, it continues to fascinate me in real life.

The Best Investments
When people hear the word investment, they often think about money.
Stocks.
Real estate.
Businesses.
But some of the best investments don't show up on financial statements.
Time spent with your children.
Time spent strengthening your marriage.
Time spent helping someone else.
Time spent growing your faith.
Time spent becoming a better version of yourself.
Those investments often produce the greatest returns.
Final Thoughts
As I've gotten older, my definition of wealth has changed.
Wealth is not simply having money.
Wealth is having time.
Time to spend with people you love.
Time to pursue meaningful work.
Time to strengthen your faith.
Time to make a difference.
Money is important.
But time is priceless.
Spend it wisely.
Because in the end, it may be the most valuable asset you'll ever possess.
