The Power of Starting Before You Feel Ready
By Nino Mihilli | Entrepreneur, Author, and Founder of T47 Group
One of the biggest myths people believe is that successful people wait until they are ready.
Ready to start a business.
Ready to write a book.
Ready to make a career change.
Ready to pursue a dream.
Ready to take a chance.
The truth is, most meaningful things begin long before we feel ready.
As I've gotten older, I've realized that confidence rarely comes first.
Action comes first.
Confidence follows.
Waiting for Perfect Conditions
Many people spend years waiting.
Waiting for the perfect opportunity.
Waiting for more experience.
Waiting for certainty.
Waiting for fear to disappear.
But life rarely works that way.
Perfect conditions almost never arrive.
There is always another reason to wait.
Another excuse.
Another concern.
Another "what if."
Meanwhile, time keeps moving.
Opportunities pass.
Dreams remain unfinished.
Not because people lacked ability.
Because they kept waiting.
Most Growth Happens in Motion
When I look back at some of the biggest decisions in my life, very few happened when I felt completely prepared.
Starting businesses.
Taking risks.
Writing The Variable.
Pursuing new opportunities.
None came with complete certainty.
In fact, uncertainty was part of the process.
What I've learned is that clarity often comes through action.
Not before it.
You learn by doing.
You grow by trying.
You gain confidence by moving forward.
The people who make progress aren't necessarily fearless.
They're willing to move despite fear.
Faith Requires Forward Motion
The Bible is filled with examples of people who moved forward before they had all the answers.
Before they saw the full plan.
Before they knew exactly how things would unfold.
Faith often requires taking the next step before the entire path becomes visible.
The Bible says:
"For we live by faith, not by sight." — 2 Corinthians 5:7
That verse has always resonated with me.
Because entrepreneurship often feels exactly like that.
You take a step.
You learn.
You adjust.
You keep moving.
And eventually the path becomes clearer.
The Inspiration Behind The Variable
One thing I explored while writing The Variable was how people respond when they are forced into situations they never expected.
The characters don't have the luxury of waiting until they're ready.
They must act.
Adapt.
Grow.
The same is often true in real life.
Many opportunities arrive before we feel fully prepared.
The question is whether we're willing to take the step anyway.

The Cost of Waiting
There is a cost to failure.
But there is also a cost to never trying.
A cost to hesitation.
A cost to fear.
A cost to unrealized potential.
Years later, many people regret the chances they didn't take far more than the mistakes they made.
Because mistakes create lessons.
Action creates growth.
Waiting often creates regret.
Final Thoughts
If you're waiting for the perfect moment, consider this:
The perfect moment may never come.
Start before you feel ready.
Take the first step.
Trust God with the outcome.
Learn along the way.
Because many of life's greatest opportunities begin the moment we stop waiting and start moving.
