I'm Still Becoming the Man I Hope to Be

By Nino Mihilli | Entrepreneur, Author, Founder of T47 Group, Creator of Xsatori, and Author of The Variable

One thing I hope people understand about me is this:

I haven't arrived.

I'm still learning.

Still growing.

Still making mistakes.

Still trying to become the man I believe God is calling me to be.

Sometimes people assume that once you've built businesses, written a book, or spent years leading teams, you eventually figure everything out.

I don't think that's true.

If anything, the journey has made me more aware of how much I still have to learn.

Growth Isn't a Destination

When I was younger, I imagined growth as a finish line.

One day I'd become confident enough.

Wise enough.

Successful enough.

Prepared enough.

Now I see growth differently.

Growth is a direction.

Not a destination.

Every season teaches something new.

Every challenge exposes a weakness I didn't know I had.

Every opportunity asks me to become a slightly different leader than I was before.

That's part of becoming.

Building Businesses Builds You

People often think entrepreneurs build companies.

That's true.

But companies also build entrepreneurs.

Every difficult customer teaches patience.

Every employee teaches leadership.

Every setback teaches resilience.

Every success teaches responsibility.

Flat Staffing has taught me about serving people.

T47 Group has taught me about thinking long term.

Xsatori is teaching me humility every day because technology has a way of reminding you how much you don't know.

Looking back, I realize I wasn't just building businesses.

They were building me.

Writing Changed Me More Than I Expected

When I started writing The Variable, I thought I was creating a story.

I didn't expect the story to change me.

Writing forces honesty.

It forces patience.

It forces you to wrestle with ideas until they become clear.

By the time the book was finished, I wasn't the same person who had written the first chapter.

That's one of the unexpected gifts of creating something meaningful.

The work changes the creator.

Faith Is the Foundation

If there's one thing that keeps me grounded, it's my faith.

Because faith reminds me that my identity isn't found in my accomplishments.

It's found in Christ.

That truth is freeing.

It allows me to celebrate success without becoming prideful.

It allows me to endure failure without becoming hopeless.

It reminds me that my value doesn't rise and fall with business results.

The Bible says:

"He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion..." — Philippians 1:6

I love that promise.

Because it reminds me that God isn't finished with me yet.

The Real Goal

These days, I'm less interested in becoming known.

I'm more interested in becoming faithful.

Faithful as a husband.

Faithful as a father.

Faithful as a leader.

Faithful as a friend.

Faithful with the opportunities God has placed in front of me.

If those things are true, I trust the rest will take care of itself.

Final Thoughts

One day, someone may read this years from now.

Maybe one of my children.

Maybe someone building their first business.

Maybe someone wondering if they're good enough.

If that's you, here's what I hope you remember.

You don't have to have everything figured out.

You just have to keep growing.

Keep learning.

Keep trusting God.

Keep showing up.

Because none of us are finished products.

We're all becoming.

And honestly...

I think that's one of the most beautiful parts of life.
