I've Learned to Dream About Tomorrow Without Missing Today

I've always been a builder.

My mind naturally drifts toward what's next.

The next company.

The next book.

The next trip.

The next problem to solve.

The next opportunity to pursue.

There's something exciting about imagining what could be.

I don't think that part of me will ever disappear.

And honestly, I hope it doesn't.

Dreaming is one of the ways God stretches our vision beyond what we can currently see.

But over the years, I've also learned that dreaming comes with a danger.

If we're not careful, we can become so focused on tomorrow that we forget to live today.

Builders Are Wired This Way

I've met a lot of entrepreneurs over the years.

Most of us have something in common.

Even after reaching one goal, we're already thinking about the next one.

It's part of what makes entrepreneurs entrepreneurs.

We're constantly asking,

"What if?"

"How could this be better?"

"What's possible?"

That mindset creates innovation.

It also creates restlessness if we're not careful.

Success Keeps Moving the Finish Line

Early in my career, I believed there would eventually be a moment when I'd finally feel like I had "made it."

Then I'd relax.

Slow down.

Enjoy the view.

That moment never arrived.

Every achievement simply introduced a new challenge.

A bigger responsibility.

A larger vision.

A fresh mountain to climb.

Eventually I realized something important.

If I kept waiting to enjoy life until after the next milestone, I'd spend my entire life waiting.

The Present Is a Gift

That's one reason I try to be intentional about appreciating ordinary moments.

A meaningful conversation.

Laughing with family.

An encouraging message from a friend.

Watching a project slowly come together.

A quiet evening with a bottle of water, reflecting on the day and thanking God for His faithfulness.

Those moments don't interrupt life.

They are life.

Faith Changes My Perspective

Jesus spoke often about tomorrow.

But He also reminded us not to worry about it.

In Matthew 6:34, He says:

"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself."

I've come to appreciate the wisdom in that verse.

Planning is important.

Vision matters.

But peace is found in today's obedience, not tomorrow's certainty.

Dream Big. Live Fully.

I've stopped believing those two ideas compete with each other.

You can build ambitious businesses and still make time for your family.

You can chase meaningful goals and still notice the beauty of an ordinary Thursday.

You can think years ahead without overlooking the person sitting across the table today.

In fact, I think the best leaders learn to do both.

Final Thoughts

I still have more ideas than I have time.

That's probably never going to change.

There are businesses I'd love to build.

Places I'd love to visit.

Books I'd love to write.

Problems I'd love to solve.

But if I've learned anything, it's this:

Life isn't something that starts after the next achievement.

It's already happening.

Right now.

In today's conversations.

Today's responsibilities.

Today's opportunities to love people well.

So I'll keep dreaming about tomorrow.

The Best Things in My Life Took Longer Than I Expected

I've never met an entrepreneur who said, "I hope this takes twice as long as I planned."

We all like momentum.

We like quick wins.

We like checking boxes and seeing progress.

I'm no different.

When I start building something, I naturally want to see it move forward.

But if I look back over my life honestly, almost every meaningful thing took longer than I expected.

And I'm grateful it did.

We Overestimate What Happens Quickly

When you're standing at the beginning of a new venture, it's easy to imagine a straight path.

You have a vision.

You make a plan.

You get to work.

Then reality shows up.

Problems you didn't anticipate.

Delays you couldn't control.

Ideas that looked great on paper but needed to be rethought.

At first, those moments felt like setbacks.

Now I see them differently.

Most of them weren't obstacles.

They were part of the process.

The Slow Work Shapes You

It's tempting to think success comes from one big moment.

A launch.

A sale.

A breakthrough.

But those moments are usually built on hundreds of quiet days that nobody else sees.

The early mornings.

The revisions.

The conversations.

The failures that never make it into a highlight reel.

Those are the days that shape both the work and the person doing it.

Business Has Taught Me to Be Patient

Whether we're helping companies find dependable people through Flat Staffing or building technology that didn't exist yesterday, I've learned that trust grows at its own pace.

One verse I've come back to over the years is Ecclesiastes 3:11:

"He has made everything beautiful in its time."

Not my time.

There have been opportunities I desperately wanted that never happened.

At the time, I didn't understand why.

Looking back, I'm thankful.

I wasn't ready.

Sometimes God's greatest gift isn't opening a door.

Things I Believe: Integrity Is Expensive, and It's Worth Every Penny

There are values that sound good in conversation.

Then there are values that cost you something.

Integrity belongs in the second category.

It's easy to talk about honesty when honesty is convenient.

It's much harder when telling the truth costs you money.

Or a customer.

Or an opportunity.

Or your reputation in the short term.

That's when integrity stops being a slogan and starts becoming a decision.

Character Is Revealed When Nobody Is Watching

One of the biggest misconceptions about integrity is that it's something we demonstrate in public.

I think the opposite is often true.

Integrity is usually built in private.

It's choosing the harder path when nobody would ever know if you didn't.

Returning a phone call you could easily ignore.

Owning a mistake before someone else discovers it.

Paying what you owe even when you could probably get away with not paying it.

Doing quality work long before anyone notices.

Those moments don't usually make headlines.

But they shape who we become.

Reputation Is Earned Slowly

People often ask how businesses build trust.

I don't think trust is built through advertising.

It's built through consistency.

Doing what you said you would do.

Meeting commitments.

Treating people fairly even when there's disagreement.

Admitting when you're wrong.

You can't buy that kind of reputation.

You earn it one interaction at a time.

And once it's earned, it's one of the most valuable assets a person or company can have.

Success Without Integrity Isn't Success

I've met people with impressive resumes.

Beautiful offices.

Growing companies.

But if those things were built by sacrificing integrity, I struggle to call them successful.

Success isn't just measured by what you've accumulated.

It's measured by how you accumulated it.

That's a question worth asking ourselves from time to time.

Faith Doesn't End at the Church Door

Following Christ isn't something I compartmentalize.

It's not just for Sunday mornings.

It should shape Monday morning meetings.

Business negotiations.

Customer conversations.

Hiring decisions.

How I speak about people who aren't in the room.

How I respond when things don't go my way.

The Bible says:

"Whoever walks in integrity walks securely..." — Proverbs 10:9

I've found that to be true.

Integrity doesn't guarantee an easy life.

But it does give you something incredibly valuable.

Peace.

There Have Been Times It Cost Me

I'll be honest.

There have been moments when doing what I believed was right wasn't the most profitable choice.

There have been opportunities I let pass because they didn't align with my convictions.

When I was younger, I thought the best days would be the extraordinary ones.

Landing a big client.

Launching a new company.

Publishing a book.

Celebrating a major milestone.

Those days are memorable, and I'm grateful for them.

But somewhere along the way, my perspective changed.

I've started appreciating the ordinary days even more.

A Good Day Doesn't Have to Be a Big Day

Some of my favorite days don't include headlines or celebrations.

They're the days when I wake up early, spend a little quiet time in prayer, grab a bottle of water, and begin working through whatever challenge is in front of me.

Maybe it's meeting with the team.

Maybe it's sketching ideas on a whiteboard.

Maybe it's solving a problem that's been sitting in the back of my mind for weeks.

Those days may not look impressive from the outside.

But they're the days that quietly build a life.

Progress Usually Looks Boring

We often celebrate breakthroughs.

We rarely celebrate repetition.

Yet almost everything worthwhile is built through repetition.

Showing up.

Learning.

Adjusting.

Trying again.

The companies I've been fortunate to help build weren't created in a weekend.

Neither was my faith.

Neither were my closest relationships.

The meaningful things in life grow slowly.

Gratitude Changes What You Notice

I've found that gratitude has a way of slowing life down.

Hope is exciting.

A new job.

Nothing I Build Is Really Mine

Every now and then, I'll walk through one of our businesses after everyone has gone home.

The phones are quiet.

The lights are dim.

The day is over.

It's a good time to think.

Those moments remind me of something I try not to forget:

None of this truly belongs to me.

The companies.

The opportunities.

The relationships.

Even my time.

They're all gifts entrusted to me for a season.

That's a humbling thought.

And strangely, it's also a freeing one.

Ownership Is Temporary

As entrepreneurs, it's easy to talk about "my company."

"My employees."

"My clients."

"My success."

I understand why we say it.

But if we're honest, none of us gets to keep these things forever.

Someone built before us.

Someone else will build after us.

Our role is to care for what we've been given while we have the opportunity.

That's stewardship.

Stewardship Changes Your Priorities

When I think of myself as an owner, I naturally ask,

"How can this benefit me?"

When I think of myself as a steward, the question changes.

"How can I take care of this well?"

It changes how I treat employees.

How I lead.

How I make decisions when no one is watching.

Stewardship isn't about having less ambition.

It's about having the right purpose.

Business Is a Responsibility

I've never viewed business as simply a way to earn a living.

Business creates jobs.

Supports families.

Builds communities.

Creates opportunities for people who need them.

That responsibility should never be taken lightly.

Someone gaining experience.

Sometimes it's the first step toward a completely different future.

That perspective keeps the work meaningful.

Success Can Become a Poor Master

There's nothing wrong with wanting to build something successful.

I hope every business I touch continues to grow.

But success becomes dangerous when we begin serving it instead of serving people.

I've had to remind myself of that more than once.

Revenue matters.

Profit matters.

Growth matters.

But they should remain tools.

Never idols.

The Parable That Challenges Me

One of the parables Jesus told most often referenced stewardship.

In the Parable of the Talents, each servant was entrusted with resources.

The question wasn't whether they owned them.

The question was whether they used them faithfully.

That story has stayed with me for years.

I don't know exactly what God will ask me someday.

But I imagine one of His questions won't be,

"How much did you accumulate?"

It may be closer to,

"What did you do with what I entrusted to you?"

That's a very different way to measure a life.

A Legacy Beyond Business

I hope the companies I build continue to grow long after I'm gone.

But even more than that, I hope they continue serving people.

Helping families.

Creating opportunity.

Treating others with dignity.

If that happens, then the businesses themselves become part of something much bigger than me.

That's the kind of legacy worth pursuing.

At the end of each day, I try to remember one simple truth.

Everything I have today has been entrusted to me.

My family.

My faith.

My work.

My time.

Even the ability to dream about what's next.

None of it is guaranteed.

All of it is a gift.

There are people who seem to have an answer for everything.

I've never wanted to be one of them.

Curiosity has shaped almost every meaningful chapter of my life.

It has led me into industries I never expected to enter.

It has introduced me to people I never would have met.

It has challenged beliefs I held too tightly and strengthened convictions that deserved a stronger foundation.

Looking back, I don't think curiosity has just been a habit.

I think it's been a gift.

Every Conversation Can Teach You Something

One of my favorite parts of traveling isn't the destination.

It's the conversations along the way.

I've learned valuable lessons from CEOs and warehouse workers.

From authors and mechanics.

From people who have traveled the world and people who have spent their entire lives in one town.

Wisdom doesn't check your job title before it speaks.

Sometimes it arrives through someone the rest of the world overlooks.

I've learned to pay attention.

The Best Leaders Keep Learning

The day a leader believes they have nothing left to learn is the day they stop growing.

Technology changes.

Businesses change.

Communities change.

People change.

If I'm going to lead well, I have to keep learning.

That's one reason I enjoy building new things.

Faith Invites Questions

Some people think faith and curiosity are opposites.

I've never believed that.

Not to avoid the conversation, but to lead people toward a deeper truth.

For me, curiosity has never weakened my faith.

It's strengthened it.

Because every sincere search for truth has reminded me that truth doesn't need to fear honest questions.

Building Keeps Me Curious

Working on Flat Staffing has taught me about people.

Building Xsatori has taught me about technology.

Writing The Variable taught me about storytelling.

Every new challenge has opened a door into a world I knew very little about.

That's one of the reasons I enjoy creating.

The destination matters.

But the learning along the way matters just as much.

Wonder Is Different From Information

We live in a world overflowing with information.

Answers are only a few clicks away.

But information isn't the same thing as wonder.

Wonder slows you down.

It causes you to notice things other people miss.

It asks, "Why?"

Then it asks, "What if?"

Those two questions have started more meaningful journeys than I can count.

I hope I never become so busy that I stop being amazed.

A beautiful sunrise.

A conversation with a stranger.

A breakthrough after weeks of frustration.

A child asking a question no adult thought to ask.

A few years ago, I would have measured progress by how many things I said yes to.

A new project?

Yes.

Another meeting?

A new opportunity?

Let's do it.

I believed momentum meant constantly adding something.

Another client.

Another idea.

Another responsibility.

Another goal.

Then something changed.

I realized that some of the biggest breakthroughs in my life came after I decided not to do something.

Every Yes Creates a No

One lesson entrepreneurship teaches is that time is limited.

Every hour you spend building one thing is an hour you cannot spend building something else.

That sounds obvious.

But it's amazing how often we ignore it.

We celebrate saying yes.

We rarely celebrate the discipline of saying no.

Yet the older I get, the more I realize focus isn't about choosing what to do.

It's about choosing what not to do.

Not Every Good Idea Is My Assignment

I love ideas.

Working on Xsatori has reminded me that focus creates quality.

Faith Gives Me Permission to Slow Down

One of the most comforting truths in Scripture is that God's will isn't driven by panic.

I don't have to rush because I'm afraid I'll miss everything.

If an opportunity truly aligns with my purpose, I trust that God can open that door at the right time.

The Bible says:

"The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty." — Proverbs 21:5

I've come to appreciate that verse more each year.

When I was editing The Variable, there were scenes I genuinely liked.

They were well written.

Interesting.

Entertaining.

I removed them anyway.

Not because they were bad.

Because they distracted from the story I wanted to tell.

That experience stayed with me.

When I was younger, I imagined growth as a finish line.

Now I see growth differently.

Growth is a direction.

Not a destination.

Every season teaches something new.

That's the kind of work I hope to create.

Faith Gives This Principle Meaning

Jesus often met people where they were.

But He rarely left them there.

He brought hope.

Healing.

Truth.

Compassion.

Transformation.

That example has challenged me for years.

The Bible says:

That's where almost everything I've built has started.

Good Questions Change Everything

I've learned that most businesses don't begin with answers.

They begin with questions.

Why is this process so frustrating?

Why hasn't anyone solved this?

Why do people accept this as normal?

Sometimes I spend hours thinking about a single question before I ever think about a solution.

Because the quality of the question often determines the quality of the answer.

Building Means Living With Unfinished Ideas

One thing I've become comfortable with is unfinished work.

There are notebooks filled with ideas that may never become businesses.

Whiteboards covered in diagrams that eventually get erased.

Projects that evolve into something completely different than I originally imagined.

Years ago, I viewed that as wasted effort.

Now I see it as part of the creative process.

Not every idea needs to become a company.

Some ideas exist to teach you something that makes the next idea better.

People sometimes see a finished feature and assume it came together quickly.

Today I'm spending a lot of time building software and working with artificial intelligence.

Some people assume that means I'm less interested in people.

The opposite is true.

The reason I care about technology is because I've seen how frustrating broken systems can be for the people using them.

The best technology removes friction.

It doesn't forget the human being behind the process.

From the outside, businesses look like a straight line.

A relationship.

An idea.

The Best Plans Don't Survive Reality

I enjoy planning.

Roadmaps.

Vision documents.

Long-term strategy.

Why I Still Carry a Notebook Everywhere

If you walked into my office tomorrow, one thing would probably stand out.

Not the computer.

Not the whiteboards.

Not the multiple projects.

A notebook.

Actually... several of them.

In a world filled with AI tools, smartphones, voice assistants, and productivity apps, I still find myself reaching for a notebook.

People sometimes ask why.

The answer is simple.

Ideas deserve a place to live before they deserve a place to grow.

Great Ideas Rarely Arrive on Schedule

I've never had a great idea because I scheduled one.

Ideas usually show up at inconvenient times.

During a meeting.

While driving.

Reading a book.

Watching one of my kids play sports.

Walking through a warehouse.

Talking with a customer.

Praying.

Those moments disappear quickly if I don't capture them.

I've learned not to trust my memory.

I trust my system.

Most Notes Never Become Businesses

One misconception about entrepreneurs is that every idea becomes a company.

Not even close.

Most of my notes never become anything.

Some become blog posts.

Some become conversations.

Some become features inside Xsatori.

Some become improvements for Flat Staffing.

Some become chapters in a future book.

Most simply teach me how I think.

And that's valuable too.

Patterns Matter More Than Ideas

I've noticed something interesting over the years.

A single idea isn't usually that important.

But when the same idea keeps showing up from different directions...

That's worth paying attention to.

A customer asks a question.

Then another customer asks something similar.

Then I read an article.

Then I notice the same problem somewhere else.

That's no longer an isolated thought.

That's a pattern.

Businesses are often built by recognizing patterns before other people do.

AI Doesn't Replace Thinking

I use AI almost every day.

It helps me research.

Organize.

Challenge my assumptions.

Move faster.

But AI hasn't replaced the need to think deeply.

In fact, it's made deep thinking even more valuable.

The better my questions become, the better the answers become.

That's why I still spend time writing ideas by hand.

Slowing down forces me to think.

Thinking leads to clarity.

Faith Creates Space to Listen

If you never take care of yourself, eventually you won't have much left to give anyone else.

Busy Doesn't Always Mean Effective

There were seasons where my calendar was completely full.

From the outside, it probably looked productive.

Inside, I knew something wasn't right.

I was reacting more than leading.

Solving urgent problems instead of important ones.

Moving constantly without always moving forward.

It taught me that activity and effectiveness aren't the same thing.

A few years ago, I came across an idea that completely changed how I think about business.

Actually...

It changed how I think about life.

The idea was simple.

We don't really own anything.

At first, that sounded strange.

I've spent my life building companies.

Writing books.

Creating new ideas.

Working toward goals.

So naturally, my first reaction was:

"Of course we own things."

But the more I thought about it—and the more I studied Scripture—the more I realized how limited that perspective was.

Everything Is Temporary

Businesses change.

Technology changes.

Markets change.

Homes change.

Cars wear out.

Money comes and goes.

Even our own lives are temporary.

If everything eventually changes hands, can we really say we own it?

Or are we simply entrusted with it for a season?

That question shifted my perspective.

From Ownership to Stewardship

When I started thinking like an owner, my focus was simple.

Grow.

Protect.

Accumulate.

When I started thinking like a steward, my questions changed.

How can I serve people better?

How can I create opportunities for others?

How can I use what I've been given wisely?

How can I leave something better than I found it?

Those questions made me a better entrepreneur.

They also made me a better husband.

A better father.

And, I hope, a better friend.

Business Is Bigger Than Profit

Don't misunderstand me.

I believe businesses should be profitable.

Profit allows businesses to grow.

To hire people.

To innovate.

To survive difficult seasons.

But profit should never become the purpose.

Purpose creates profit.

Profit doesn't create purpose.

When purpose leads, the numbers often follow.

When numbers lead, purpose often disappears.

People sometimes ask why I'm involved in such different businesses.

The answer is actually simple.

They're all expressions of stewardship.

Flat Staffing exists because people deserve opportunities to work.

Different industries.

One purpose.

Create value.

Serve people.

Leave things better than I found them.

Why I Wrote The Variable

Writing The Variable wasn't just about becoming an author.

It was another opportunity to create something meaningful.

Stories have a unique way of reaching people.

Sometimes a novel can start conversations that facts alone never could.

That's what I hoped to accomplish.

Whether someone reads it for entertainment or reflection, I wanted it to leave them thinking.

To me, that's stewardship too.

Using creativity for a purpose.

The Question I Ask Myself Now

As I've gotten older, I find myself asking one question more than almost any other.

"If everything I have is on loan from God, am I using it well?"

My time.

My talents.

My businesses.

My relationships.

My opportunities.

My influence.

It's a humbling question.

But I think it's the right one.

Final Thoughts

One day, someone else will own every company I've built.

Someone else will drive every vehicle I've purchased.

Someone else may even read this article years after I'm gone.

That's okay.

Because ownership was never really the point.

Faithfulness was.

If I can be faithful with what I've been entrusted to build...

Looking back, those questions have shaped almost every chapter of my life.

People often think businesses begin with an idea.

I don't think that's true.

I think businesses begin with a question.

Flat Staffing began with a question:

Can staffing be done with greater consistency, stronger relationships, and better service?

T47 Group began with another question:

How can different businesses work together to create something larger than themselves?

Xsatori began with a question that still drives me today:

Can artificial intelligence help us understand reality before everyone else does?

Every worthwhile project in my life started because I was curious enough to ask a better question.

Books Begin the Same Way

When I wrote The Variable, the story didn't begin with characters.

It began with curiosity.

I kept wondering:

What happens when ordinary people are forced into extraordinary situations?

That single question stayed with me for years.

Eventually it became a novel.

That's the power of curiosity.

One good question can become an entire body of work.

The Best Conversations Start With Listening

Curiosity has also changed the way I lead.

When I was younger, I thought leadership meant having answers.

Today, I think leadership starts with asking better questions.

Some of the most valuable conversations I've ever had began with three simple words:

"Help me understand."

People want to be heard.

Customers.

Employees.

Friends.

Family.

When we become genuinely curious about other people, we stop listening just to respond.

I Hope My Children Never Measure Success the Way I Once Did

One day, my children will be old enough to read everything I've written.

Maybe they'll stumble across this article years from now.

If they do, I hope they understand something that took me a long time to learn.

Success isn't what I thought it was.

When I was younger, I believed success had a number attached to it.

Revenue.

Sales.

The size of a business.

The next accomplishment.

The next milestone.

The next goal.

I don't regret being ambitious.

Ambition helped me build.

It pushed me to work hard.

It taught me discipline.

But over time, I realized ambition can become a terrible compass if it isn't guided by purpose.

I Hope They Chase Character Before Achievement

If my children become successful in business, I'll be proud of them.

If they become doctors, teachers, entrepreneurs, engineers, or artists, I'll celebrate them.

But those things aren't what I hope defines them.

I hope people describe them differently.

I hope people say:

"They're honest."

"They're kind."

"They're dependable."

"They keep their word."

"They make people feel valued."

Because those qualities will outlive every job title they'll ever have.

Money Is a Tool, Not an Identity

I've spent my career building businesses.

I believe in entrepreneurship.

I believe in creating value.

I believe in financial responsibility.

But I also believe money is a terrible place to find your identity.

Money comes.

Money goes.

Markets change.

Businesses evolve.

The people who build their identity around wealth often discover how fragile that foundation can be.

Character doesn't fluctuate with the economy.

Faith Gives Life Its Direction

There are many things I want to pass on to my children.

Work ethic.

Curiosity.

Resilience.

But above everything else, I hope I pass on faith.

Not because life will always be easy.

But because it won't.

Faith won't eliminate every storm.

It gives you something to hold onto while you're walking through one.

The Bible says:

I've learned that verse isn't just about priorities.

Why I Wrote The Variable

When I wrote The Variable, I wasn't just writing about suspense.

I was writing about choices.

Pressure.

Identity.

The moments that define us.

Those moments exist in every life.

Including mine.

Including yours.

The question is never whether we'll face difficult moments.

The question is who we'll become because of them.

That's why I believe stories matter.

They help us explore truths long before we experience them ourselves.

My Greatest Hope

If my children read this one day, I hope they know something.

I never expected them to become perfect.

I never expected them to become famous.

I never expected them to make me proud through achievements alone.

I simply hope they become good people.

People who love God.

People who love others.

People who leave every room a little better than they found it.

If they do that...

They'll already be more successful than I ever dreamed.

My father escaped communist Albania.

My mother came from Iraq.

Neither of them came looking for comfort.

As a child, I didn't fully understand what that meant.

A few years ago, if you had asked me what I wanted, I probably would have answered with a business goal.

Grow the company.

Launch another venture.

Reach the next milestone.

Build something bigger.

Today, my answer is different.

I still love building businesses.

I still enjoy creating new ideas.

I still get excited about solving difficult problems.

But I've realized I'm no longer chasing success.

I'm chasing significance.

There's a difference.

Success Is About Achievement

Success is measurable.

Revenue.

Employees.

Customers.

Books sold.

Projects completed.

Goals achieved.

Those things are important.

They tell part of the story.

But they don't tell the whole story.

Because I've met people who were incredibly successful on paper but deeply unhappy in life.

And I've met people with very little who possessed incredible peace.

That taught me something.

Success and fulfillment are not the same thing.

Significance Is About Impact

When I think about the future, I don't ask myself,

"How many businesses can I build?"

I ask,

"How many lives can I positively influence?"

That question changes everything.

It changes how you lead.

How you hire.

How you write.

How you parent.

How you treat people.

How you define winning.

A business can generate revenue.

But it can also create opportunity.

A book can entertain readers.

But it can also challenge the way they think.

Technology can automate tasks.

But it can also improve lives.

That's the kind of work I want to spend my life creating.

Every Project Is Part of Something Bigger

When people look at what I'm working on, they sometimes see separate projects.

AI.

Every parent makes difficult choices.

No guarantee it would ever be published.

I wrote it anyway.

Because stories matter.

Stories ask questions that statistics never can.

When the book was finally published, I realized something.

Creating something meaningful feels different than simply completing a project.

It stays with you.

It becomes part of your legacy.

Faith Keeps My Priorities in Order

One thing my faith continually reminds me is that success isn't measured the same way by God as it is by the world.

The world celebrates visibility.

God values faithfulness.

The world asks how much you've accumulated.

God asks how you've served.

When you're young, everything feels urgent.

You feel like you're behind.

Life isn't a race.

Why I Fell in Love With Solving Problems

If someone asked me what I actually do for a living, I probably wouldn't start by saying entrepreneur.

Or author.

Or founder.

I'd probably say this:

I solve problems.

Everything else is just the vehicle.

The staffing company solves hiring problems.

Technology solves efficiency problems.

Books explore human problems.

Business, at its core, is simply solving problems that matter.

Once I understood that, the way I looked at entrepreneurship completely changed.

Every Business Exists Because of a Problem

Think about the companies you use every day.

Someone created them because something wasn't working.

Someone asked:

"Why is this so difficult?"

"Why hasn't anyone fixed this?"

"Is there a better way?"

That's where innovation begins.

Not with money.

Not with investors.

Not with fancy offices.

With curiosity.

Every meaningful business starts with someone refusing to accept that "this is just the way it's always been."

Curiosity Has Always Been My Fuel

Looking back, I realize curiosity has been one of the biggest advantages in my career.

I've always enjoyed asking questions.

Why do staffing companies operate this way?

Could technology improve this?

Could AI make this process faster?

Could sports markets work differently?

Could a story make people think differently?

Most people stop asking questions once they become adults.

I've tried not to.

Because questions create opportunities.

People often congratulate entrepreneurs when a project launches.

Those moments are exciting.

But honestly?

They're not my favorite part.

My favorite part is building.

The brainstorming.

The whiteboard full of ideas.

The conversations.

The testing.

The setbacks.

The breakthroughs.

That's where creativity lives.

It's frustrating.

It's exciting.

And I genuinely love it.

Building Xsatori Has Been a Reminder

Working on Xsatori has reminded me that every worthwhile idea starts out looking impossible.

At first, it's just conversations.

Notes.

Sketches.

Questions.

Slowly, those questions become features.

Features become software.

Software becomes a product people can actually use.

Watching that transformation never gets old.

It reminds me why I became an entrepreneur in the first place.

The Best Business Advice I Never Took

Early in my entrepreneurial journey, I received a lot of advice.

Some of it was excellent.

Some of it was terrible.

And some of it came from people who had never built anything themselves.

One lesson I've learned is that advice should always be filtered through experience.

Just because someone has an opinion doesn't mean they have the perspective to back it up.

Everyone Has an Opinion

If you decide to start a business, write a book, launch a product, or pursue an idea, you'll quickly discover something.

Everyone has advice.

"You should do this."

"You shouldn't do that."

"That will never work."

"Someone already tried it."

"You're too early."

"You're too late."

If I had listened to every opinion, I probably wouldn't have started half the projects I've worked on.

Not because the advice was malicious.

Because people naturally see the world through the limits of their own experiences.

Experience Is a Better Teacher

Over the years, I've built businesses in different industries.

I've launched new ideas.

I've made mistakes.

I've had projects succeed.

I've had projects fail.

Those experiences taught me something no book ever could.

The marketplace is the ultimate teacher.

Customers tell you what's valuable.

Reality tells you what's broken.

Experience tells you what needs to improve.

You simply can't replace that feedback.

Why I'm Still Willing to Take Chances

Some people think entrepreneurs enjoy risk.

I don't.

I enjoy possibility.

One thing I've noticed throughout my entrepreneurial journey is that every major innovation creates two groups of people.

The first group waits.

They wait to see what happens.

Eventually, they're the ones shaping the future everyone else adopts.

I've always wanted to be in the second group.

Why I Still Get Excited About Building New Things
